Between the Leaves is a beautiful quilt pattern capturing the rustling of eucalyptus leaves on the gentle breeze. Using piecework techniques, the pattern takes you step by step through the process of of stitching together hundreds of pieces of fabric together with stunning results.

This pattern has smaller/skinnier pieces in it than my other patterns. Materials and tools required:
100cm by 160cm piece of iron-on interfacing (you’ll probably need to stitch two pieces together)
30cm square of baking paper
neutral thread for piecing
assorted threads for quilting
100cm by 160cm piece of batting
100cm by 160cm backing fabric plus extra for binding
assorted fabrics
2B or 4B pencil
sewing machine
fabric scissors
sewing pins
safety pins for basting
iron and ironing board
Cotton fabric in a range of colours as follows:
background 2m (I used a natural cotton-linen blend)
dark blue 25cm
light blue 15cm
dark brown 25cm
dark green 20cm
olive 40cm
green 40cm
light green 30cm
yellow 20cm
peach 20cm
maroon 25cm
pink 20cm
pale pink 15cm
NB: fabric quantities are indicative only, and you may be able to use up random scraps that you have.
