10 Places to Hang Artwork in Your Home
If you’re like me, you spend a fair bit of time gazing at your wall wondering where you can fit in another artwork. So I thought I’d do a round up of all the places in your home that might be looking for a stunning new piece of art to grace their walls.
above the sofa
I strongly suspect that this is one of the first spaces that we consider filling with art. And it’s often the perfect spot for an oversized artwork like this one!
any spare space on the living room walls
Or if you have a blank wall without a sofa, you can hang an even bigger artwork, to really make a statement!
in the kitchen
If you’re a parent or grandparent you’re bound to have a masterpiece or two hanging on your fridge, but why not have some grownup art in the kitchen too.
at the dining table
Don’t let your dining space miss out on the fun. At our house, the dining table is the centre of the home. It’s where we all gather. The dining room walls are a perfect space to add an artwork that speaks to you as a family!
in the playroom
In a similar vein, playrooms and children’s space suit an artwork that speaks to the younger people. Something fun and uplifting, that let’s them know that they are a valuable part of the household, and that serves as inspiration for their small, busy minds.
in the mudroom
In between spaces are a great place to make a statement. Encourage a moment’s pause and reflection by hanging an artwork in the mudroom or entry.
in the laundry
Washing clothes is generally not a favourite chore, but it can certainly be more enjoyable with an artwork or two to keep us company!
above the toilet
This just might be the most neglected space when it comes to hanging art, but why not grace the bathroom walls with something beautiful. Or cheeky. This artwork sits on a picture ledge which makes it really easy to switch artworks around on a regular basis.
above the bed
It can be tempting to keep our most beautiful artworks for the public areas of our home, but I love the idea that a friend shared with me recently from a marriage book that she’d been reading. The author recommended prioritising your bedroom for your most special artwork.
above your desk
Last but not least, don’t forget to hang an artwork in your office, above your desk. The perfect way to brighten up even the dullest work days.
